"Finding Spiritual Resources for Meeting Dementia"
When we or a loved ones face the reality of living with dementia, our very
deepest sense of who we are, and what gives our life meaning and value, is
challenged. Religious communities and our own sense of the Holy in our
lives can offer important resources for us to tap into as we navigate this
most challenging of spiritual journeys. This "Lunch-and-Learn" conversation
will highlight some of the sources of strength, support, comfort, and
meaning that personal faith and spiritual communities can offer.
Rev. David Morris is the minister of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation
of the Outer Banks. Both of his parents experienced significant dementia at
the end of their lives, and he brings this experience as well as 15 years of
pastoral ministry to this month's topic.
