Dr. Mullen will discuss the importance of early diagnosis and the role of the Caregiver. Dr. Mullen retired to the Outer Banks after a career as an orthopedic surgeon. From 2003- 2011 He worked first  in St. Mary's and then St. Josephs Hospital; Level II trauma center and was on call for orthopedic and emergency surgery. During his career Dr. Mullen cared for his patients after surgery and observed confusion in the patient after surgery.

Discussion of current trends in brain health and prevention based on the informative book by Gary Small, M.D. "Alzheimer's Prevention Program will be shared."

The only "cure" for Alzheimer's is prevention, and The Alzheimer's Prevention Program shows the reader how to take control.  An American is diagnosed with Alzheimer's every 70 seconds. Here, right now, is an easy-to-follow, science-based breakthrough program that will add years of brain health and mental clarity to a person's life.

This program is valuable for all families facing memory loss and all who would like to learn more about prevention there is no charge and all are welcome.
